Job summary

Mercy Hospital Logan County in Guthrie, OK invites applications for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This full-time role supports OT services, with 40 hours per week under supervision, across all age groups. You will assist with assessments, document care, and implement treatment plans per Mercy standards.

Qualified candidates are OTA graduates with current licensure or imminent eligibility, BLS certification, and a willingness to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience is preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
• BLS certification required and must be current before caring for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under supervision.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures as directed.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of patient age groups including neonatal to geriatric.

Position Details:

Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Mercy Hospital Logan County - Guthrie, OK

Under the general supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and according to standards of treatment, assists with objective assessments as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for patients of all age ranges, according to departmental policies and procedures. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient upon receiving direction from O.T.R./L. and according to departmental policies and procedures.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and the continuing need for treatment according to departmental policy.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures according to departmental policies and procedures on standards of treatment care.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient according to departmental policies regarding documentation and charges.
• Participate in promoting education within the department
• Demonstrates knowledge of special needs and behaviors of specific age groups to include neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric.

Qualifications:

• Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupation Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensure: Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
