Job summary

Mercy in St. Louis is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support inpatient physical medicine. You will assist with initial assessments under supervision and document patient progress in accordance with department policies.

The role involves applying modalities and exercises, maintaining records, and contributing to staff education within the department. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited OTA program, current licensure or eligibility, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant licensure or eligibility.
• BLS certification.
• One year experience preferred; new graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient upon direction from O.T.R./L.
• Document course of patient care including progress notes and continuing need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures as per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and department records.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific needs across neonatal to geriatric groups.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
