Job summary

Westborough Behaviora is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to join an interdisciplinary treatment team. You will provide therapeutic recreational and activity services across all patient populations, using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach to support recovery and wellness.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week role with a $7,500 sign-on bonus and a schedule of Monday–Friday with two weekend days per month.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure by MA Board of Allied Health Professionals.
• Membership in AOTA preferred.
• IRF and/or LTACH experience preferred.
• Current Certification in BLS (Adult/Child/Infant).
• 2–3 years of inpatient/outpatient psychiatric or substance use experience; training available.

Responsibilities

• Develops and conducts group therapy sessions.
• Provides assessments to identify patient needs.
• Documents clinical data following group sessions.
• Assists in discharge planning and aftercare recommendations.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and unit arts materials.
• Supports projects, reports and other duties as assigned.
• Facilitates groups effectively and safely.
• Applies trauma-informed, person-centered approaches to care.
• Tailors rehab activities to age, socioeconomic and cultural factors.

Job Summary

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, to provide therapeutic recreational and activity services to all patient populations including Special Needs, Adult, Child and Adolescent. Has the ability to use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach that acknowledges the potential for recovery and wellness for every person we serve.

Full-time 40 hours per week

Schedule

Monday - Friday & 2 weekend days a month with day off during the week

Essential Functions

• Develops and conducts group therapy
• Provides assessment to identify patient needs
• Documents pertinent clinical data following group
• Provides individual assessment to patients as needed and makes recommendations to treatment team regarding needs for specialized rehab services or for planning for discharge and aftercare support.
• Participates in maintaining inventory of supplies
• Assists in maintaining unit arts supplies and reports issues to the Director.
• Assists as necessary for projects, reports, and other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Effective group facilitation
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and their effects on functional capacity
• Knowledge of therapeutic use of multimedia and expressive arts modalities to support stabilization and rehabilitation
• Understanding of age, socioeconomic, and cultural factors affecting patients’ interest and ability to participate in rehabilitation programs
• Ability to effectively redirect patients and set clear, timely limits on inappropriate behavior
• Associates degree in occupational therapy from an AOTA-accredited program.
• Current licensure by the Board of Allied Health Professionals, Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• American Occupational Therapy Association membership preferred.
• IRF and/or LTACH experience preferred.
• Current Certification in BLS of Adult, Child and Infant.
• 2 - 3years of inpatient/outpatient psychiatric/substance use experience (willing to train individuals with a passion to learn)

Salary: $54,080 - 79,040
