Job summary

Shadelands Post Acute is looking for a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for PRN scheduling to join our rehabilitation team in Walnut Creek, CA. You will provide OT services under supervision, develop individualized plans, and help patients regain independence.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document progress, educate patients and families, and participate in discharge planning while maintaining compliance with state regulations and facility

Qualifications

  • Current and active COTA certification and state license.
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality rehabilitation services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide occupational therapy treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and established goals.
  • Assist patients in improving their independence with activities of daily living and functional mobility.
  • Provide therapeutic activities and interventions designed to improve strength, coordination, balance, cognition, and functional skills.
  • Monitor and communicate patient progress, response to treatment, and changes in condition to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
  • Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation in accordance with facility policies, professional standards, and payer requirements.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, home programs, and strategies to promote independence and safety.
  • Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and other interdisciplinary activities as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable state regulations, professional standards, and facility policies.
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with patients, families, coworkers, and other healthcare professionals.

Shadelands Post Acute is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – PRN to join our rehabilitation team.

Position Details
  • Position: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – PRN

  • Schedule: PRN

  • Pay Range: $48–$55 per hour, depending on experience
