Job summary

Avita Health System in Galion, OH seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join the IP Therapy Department. Under the direct supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA provides OT treatments and assists with ADL training to restore function after injury or illness.

Requirements: graduate of an accredited OTA program, Ohio licensure, and current BLS. Preferred: at least one year of COTA experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program (OTA).
• Ohio licensure is required for practice as an OTA in Ohio.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide OT treatments under the direct supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with ADL training and therapeutic activities to restore function.

Position Overview

Responsible for provision and administration of specific occupational therapy treatments only under the direct supervision of the Occupational Therapist. The COTA, as directed and supervised by the Occupational Therapist, assists with ADL training and therapeutic activities in an effort to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease or physical disability. Assists patients to reach their maximum performance and level of functioning, while learning to live within the limits of their capabilities..

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensure by the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS certification.

Preferred:

• Minimum of one year of experience as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
