Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando Central is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for per diem coverage at our 31-bed critical illness recovery hospital in Orlando. You will work under supervision of an Occupational Therapist to plan and deliver individual therapy regimens for critically ill patients.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient responses, adjusting interventions, completing documentation, and participating in mandatory continuing education.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant required.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required or as required by state regulations.

• Treat patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses under supervision of an OT.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an OT.
• Monitor patient response to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as indicated in collaboration with an OT.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

Compensation: $35.00 per hour

Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando Central is a 31-bed free-standing critical illness recovery hospital. We specialize in helping critically ill patients breathe, speak, eat, walk and think as independently as possible. Our hospital also offers medical rehabilitation through Select Medical Rehabilitation, a 32-bed acute rehabilitation unit. The unit is designed to meet an individual’s rehabilitation needs and goals through a range of programs and services. The unit is located within Select Specialty Hospital - Orlando Central
