Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Akron is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Akron, OH team on a PRN/Per Diem basis. You will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to provide patient care in a post-ICU setting, with a focus on complex patient needs and care continuity.

In this role you will conduct therapy sessions, document progress, and participate in ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Treat patients with complex needs under supervision of an OT.
• Conduct individual therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Monitor patient responses and modify treatment during sessions.
• Complete documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

Responsibilities

• Reporting directly to the Occupational Therapist, you will be treating patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses.
• Conducting individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Monitoring patient's response to treatment and modifying treatment during sessions as indicated in collaboration with an OT.
• Completing appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participating in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
