The Keystone Distinction Group is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Clinic-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our outpatient pediatric therapy team in Greensboro, AL.

Under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help infants, toddlers, and school-aged children build fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and self-help skills to thrive in daily routines, school environments, and home life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program.
• Active (or eligible) COTA license from the Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy.
• NBCOT certification and Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification.
• Experience in a pediatric clinic, outpatient therapy setting, or early intervention preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted pediatric OT in a clinic to meet goals.
• Use sensory gyms and play-based activities to build skills.
• Collaborate with families and other therapies to support home/school plans.
• Document progress, notes, and support re-evaluations.

Job description

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic Pediatric Clinic-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our outpatient pediatric therapy team in Greensboro, AL. Working under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR), you will help infants, toddlers, and school-aged children build the fine motor, sensory processing, visual-motor, and self-help skills necessary to thrive in their daily routines, school environments, and home lives.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct Therapy Delivery: Implement targeted pediatric occupational therapy interventions in a clinic setting to support children’s individualized plan-of-care goals, motor development, and functional independence.

• Clinic-Based & Play-Focused Skill Building: Utilize specialized clinical space and sensory gyms to focus on functional skill-building, including fine motor grasp, tool use (writing utensils, scissors, utensils), sensory integration, self-feeding, dressing, and gross motor coordination.

• Caregiver & Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary clinic team members (speech therapists, physical therapists) to provide home exercise programs, sensory strategies, and adaptive recommendations for the home and school environments.

• Progress Tracking & Documentation: Document clinical progress toward specific functional milestones, complete timely session notes, and assist the supervising OTR with periodic re-evaluations and treatment plan updates.

• Clinical Equipment & Therapeutic Setup: Utilize and maintain clinic therapy equipment (swings, sensory tools, adaptive seating, fine motor manipulation stations) tailored to each child's individual treatment needs.

• Family Engagement & Education: Maintain warm, supportive communication with parents and caregivers to explain therapeutic activities, provide home strategy ideas, and ensure family-centered progress.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.

• Licensure: Active (or eligibility for) COTA license from the Alabama State Board of Occupational Therapy.
