Job summary

Synchrony Rehab is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment. The OTA will operate in alignment with the position's qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards.

The role requires 0-1 years of experience as an OTA, with a degree in OTA from an accredited program and a current license.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a current OTA licensure or certification.
• Current CPR certification preferred.
• Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to improve function and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy and progress.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and families on home exercises and techniques.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress with additional observations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and other interventions.
• Help patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques aimed at improving their functional abilities and independence.
• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
