Job summary

Synchrony Rehab at Kessler Estates is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to support therapeutic interventions under the direction of an Occupational Therapist in an interdisciplinary setting. You will implement treatment plans, assist with ADL training, and monitor patient progress while maintaining clear documentation.

The role requires an OTA degree from an accredited program with active licensure or certification; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree required from an accredited OTA program.
• Must have and maintain OTA licensure or certification; CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises and ADL training.
• Help patients with exercises and adaptive techniques to improve functional abilities and independence.
• Observe and document patient responses to therapy and report progress to the supervising OT.
• Provide education to patients and families on home exercises and progress strategies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support OTs in evaluating patient needs and progress and provide additional observations.

Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program

OTA licensure or certification

• Observe and maintain up-to-date documentation related to patients’ responses to therapy, document their progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Provide education and guidance to patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support continued progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing additional observations and insights.
• Other duties as assigned.
