Job summary

Aspire Senior Living Joplin is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents at our skilled nursing facility in Joplin, MO. You will work with therapists to implement treatment plans and deliver individual and group sessions.

The ideal candidate holds NBCOT certification, a high school diploma or equivalent (an associate’s or bachelor’s is preferred), and experience in a similar setting.

About The Role

As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you will work closely with our occupational therapists to design and implement treatment plans that enhance the functional abilities and independence of our residents. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA will assist with evaluations, plan development, and intervention strategies, as well as provide treatment sessions to individuals and groups. Your expertise and creativity will help our residents achieve their goals and improve their overall quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Assist occupational therapists with evaluations, treatment plans, and intervention strategies
• Provide treatment sessions to individuals and groups, including exercises, activities, and therapies
• Assist with equipment setup and cleanup, as well as maintenance of a safe and organized treatment environment
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care
• Document treatment progress and resident outcomes in accordance with established policies and procedures

Requirements

• Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from the NBCOT
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or related field preferred
• Experience working in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records
