Qualifications

  • NBCOT certification current and license in good standing.

About The Role

As a COTA at Highland Care Center, you'll work closely with Occupational Therapists and the interdisciplinary care team to provide individualized treatment designed to help patients achieve greater independence and quality of life.

You'll have the opportunity to work with patients on meaningful, functional activities - not just exercises. From helping someone regain independence with activities of daily living to improving coordination, strength, safety, and confidence, your work can have a lasting impact on a patient's life.

What You'll Do
  • Implement individualized treatment plans under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and activities of daily living.
  • Help patients improve strength, coordination, mobility, independence, and safety.
  • Provide education and training to patients and caregivers.
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Participate in care conferences and interdisciplinary care planning.
  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
  • Create a positive, encouraging environment that motivates patients to reach their goals.
  • Maintain compliance with facility, state, and federal requirements.
What We're Looking For
  • Current COTA certification through NBCOT and license in good standing.
  • Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Geriatric, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing experience is a plus - but we're excited to meet motivated COTAs who want to grow with us!
