Job summary

Muir Home Health in Benicia, CA is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing home health team. You will work under the supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life.

The ideal candidate holds a California COTA license, CPR certification, and has at least one year of clinical experience. A valid driver’s license and insured vehicle are required to visit patients at their homes.

Qualifications

• Valid California COTA license.
• Maintain a current CPR certification.
• 1+ year of clinical COTA experience.
• Must have a licensed driver with insured vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Participate in ongoing evaluation of patient’s functional status and home environment.
• Assist in teaching new skills or retraining patients in daily activities.
• Maintain clinical records, notes, and reports to the OT and submit documentation.
• Follow treatment program and goals for improved patient function.
• Coordinate with other personnel involved in the patient’s care to promote coordinated services.
• Instruct family/caregivers in the patient’s treatment regime.
