About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at Uniontown Nursing and Rehab in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in our Skilled Nursing department, providing exceptional rehabilitation services to our residents. With a focus on "neighbors helping neighbors," our therapy department is dedicated to delivering personalized care and support to our patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans to help residents achieve their goals

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify residents' strengths, weaknesses, and needs

  • Develop and implement creative and effective interventions to promote independent living, mobility, and functional abilities

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication

  • Document resident progress and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly

  • Participate in staff meetings and in-service education to stay current with best practices and industry developments

Requirements:
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a minimum of 1 year of experience in a skilled nursing setting

  • Current certification as a COTA in the state of Pennsylvania

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or a related field preferred

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with residents, families, and healthcare teams

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, push/pull 100 pounds, and stand for extended periods
