Job summary

Meritus Health in Maryland is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Total Rehab Care team. Under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, you will provide treatment and follow-up care for patients of all ages, helping them reach their highest level of function.

You will collaborate with physicians, therapists and other professionals to ensure continuity of care, contribute to discharge planning, and support patient and family education while

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited OTA program with an AA degree.
• Maryland OTA licensure (or temporary license pending board exam/reciprocity).
• Current BLS certification (not required for Behavioral Health).
• Ability to motivate, educate, and support patients throughout rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care according to the therapist’s plan of care, including treatment interventions, caregiver training, equipment use, and referrals.
• Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and contribute to discharge planning.
• Support patients and families by providing education, motivation, and encouragement.
• Collaborate with rehab team members and participate in team and case conferences.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to aides, students, observers, and volunteers.

Meritus Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Total Rehab Care team. Under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist (OTR), you will provide treatment and follow-up care to patients of all ages—from newborns to older adults—helping them achieve their highest level of function.

As a key member of the rehab team, you’ll collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and deliver outstanding therapy services.

What You’ll Do
