UNC Health Nash in North Carolina is seeking a Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support, under supervision, the evaluation and treatment of patients. You will assist with plans, implement procedures, and communicate progress to the care team.

Qualified candidates will have an accredited OT Assistant program, NC OT license, and current BCLS certification, contributing to compassionate patient care and collaborative practice across Nash and surrounding counties.

Qualifications

  • Must have an accredited program completion for Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Current North Carolina license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTTA).
  • Current BCLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assists OTR/L with patient evaluations and contributes to treatment plans.
  • Implements assigned aspects of the treatment plan.
  • Participates in evaluation of the treatment plan.
  • Performs OT procedures as approved and as detailed in the Skills Checklist when competent.
  • Communicates with patients or their representatives.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development across the patient lifespan.
  • Communicates with team members, physicians and other care providers about occupational therapy.
  • Provides Oversight and guidance to non-licensed personnel, new employees and students.

Summary

The Licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant implements treatment plans developed and supervised by a Licensed Occupational Therapist and provides input regarding patient's response to treatment and progress, in an attempt to prevent disability following disease/injury, while helping the patient reach his/her maximum performance while learning to live within the limits of his/her capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Assists OTR/L with patient evaluations, and provides input with respect to treatment plans.
  • Implements assigned aspects of the treatment plan.
  • Participates in the evaluation of the treatment plan.
  • When determined competent, performs all physical therapy procedures approved for the position, and as detailed in the position's Skills Checklist.
  • Communicates with patients or their representatives.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development over the entire life span of a patient.
  • Communicates with team members, physicians and other care providers regarding occupational therapy.
  • Provides Oversight and guidance to non-licensed personnel, new employees and students.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Occupational Therapy Assistants.
  • Current North Carolina license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
  • Current BCLS certification.
