Description
Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board standards.
- Follow physician treatment plans in patient care.
- Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides.
- Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, issues, and plans.
- Participate in in-service training programs for staff.
- Record evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, recertification documentation, and treatment changes per Occupational Therapy Board regulations and third-party payer requirements.
- Instruct patients’ families or nursing staff in maintenance and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area.
- Report equipment problems to ensure proper maintenance.
- Maintain positive and effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues.
Supervisory Requirements
This position is non-supervisory.
Qualifications
- Licensed as a Staff Occupational Therapy Assistant by the State.
- Proficient in computer skills, including data entry into programs like Casamba and Point Click Care.
- Ability to read and understand technical procedures, policies, and manuals.
- Strong communication skills for presenting information and responding to questions.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
- Maintain current licensure and meet continuing education requirements per state regulations.
Physical Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, reaching, talking, and hearing.
- Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to exert force as needed to move objects and support physical tasks.
Work Environment
