Job summary

WelbeHealth, LLC. seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our interdisciplinary team and help maximize independence in ADLs for participants at the center and in their homes.

You will implement care plans, assist the Occupational Therapist, and collaborate with therapists and providers to deliver quality patient-centered care in a supportive environment. Compensation includes base pay plus bonus, with comprehensive benefits and PTO.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in OTA from an accredited program.
• Valid California OTA license or license eligibility.
• Experience treating frail, elderly participants with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ROM, and strength testing.
• Coordinate with Rehabilitation team to implement activities per treatment plans.
• Handle scheduling of treatments, clinical visits, and billing.
• Document interventions per care plans to promote independence in ADLs.

At WelbeHealth, each participant of our program is guided by our interdisciplinary team (IDT) – composed of clinical and non-clinical members who work cohesively to provide quality patient-centered care. Our values and participant focus lead the way no matter what.

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) is a key member of the IDT, collaborating with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement care plans and providing condition updates to the clinical team. Under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA provides restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services to participants at the center and in their homes to maximize independence, safety, and performance of ADLs.

On the day-to-day, you will:

• Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist
• Assist the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing
• Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on participants’ individual treatment plans
• Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing
• Document occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans including but not limited to the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re-education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance, and other factors affecting independence in performing ADLs

Job requirements include:

• Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) associate’s degree from an accredited program
• Valid California OTA license, or proof of license eligibility
• OTA knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs

We are seeking COTAs that ideally have outpatient, acute, inpatient, or skilled nursing experience.
