Responsibilities

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays a vital role in patient rehabilitation. Key responsibilities include:

• Patient Care Execution: Implement therapeutic plans under the supervision of an occupational therapist, including teaching adaptive equipment use and guiding exercises.
• Activity and Program Planning: Contribute to planning therapeutic activities tailored to individual patient needs.
• Progress Monitoring: Observe, document, and report patient progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
• Patient and Family Education: Educate on therapy processes, adaptive equipment, and home modifications to support long-term recovery.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
• Current license/certification in the state of practice
