Job description

About the Role

At WelbeHealth, each participant of our program is guided by our interdisciplinary team (IDT) – composed of clinical and non‑clinical members who work cohesively to provide quality patient‑centered care. Our values and participant focus lead the way no matter what.

The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) is a key member of the IDT, collaborating with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement care plans and providing condition updates to the clinical team. Under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA provides restorative and rehabilitative occupational therapy services to participants at the center and in their homes to maximize independence, safety, and performance of ADLs.

What Makes This Role Different
  • Have lower patient volumes - no more seeing 3-4 patients an hour
  • Form long‑term relationships with participants rather than short‑term rehab stints
  • Collaborate with other therapists, providers, and disciplines
  • Have work/life balance - no after hours of documentation
Benefits
  • Medical insurance coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision)
  • Work/life balance - 17 days of personal time off (PTO), 12 holidays observed annually, and 6 sick days
  • 401K savings + match
  • Comprehensive compensation package including base pay and bonus
  • Additional benefits
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
  • Administer participant treatment programs as established by the Occupational Therapist
  • Assist the Occupational Therapist in obtaining vital signs, ranges of motion, and strength testing
  • Coordinate with other members of the Rehabilitation team to implement activities and programs based on participants’ individual treatment plans
  • Handle scheduling of participants’ treatments, clinical visits, and billing
  • Document occupational therapy interventions in accordance with established care plans including but not limited to the use of devices, techniques, and activities to promote muscle re‑education, perceptual-motor and cognitive function, balance, and endurance, and other factors affecting independence in performing ADLs
Job Requirements
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) associate’s degree from an accredited program
  • Valid California OTA license, or proof of license eligibility
  • Minimum of two (2) years of OTA experience in a clinical setting with a frail or elderly population
  • OTA knowledge necessary to treat frail, elderly participants with complex needs

We are seeking COTAs that ideally have outpatient, acute, inpatient, or skilled nursing experience. If you’re ready to join a holistic care team that values both its participants and providers, we’d love to hear from you!

Compensation

Compensation consists of base salary plus bonus. WelbeHealth offers a competitive total rewards package that includes a 401(k) match, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and a broad range of additional benefits. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience and relevant qualifications.
