MU Health Care is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Therapy Services team at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, MO. The role supports advanced therapeutic treatments and patient safety, with on-site work and a PRN shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as described.

  • Administer treatment under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

  • Complete documentation according to MU Health Care guidelines and policies.
  • Provide modalities and assist with splint fabrication, casting, and compression garment measurement.

Shift: PRN, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:00 PM, Rotating Saturdays and Holidays

Work Arrangement: On-Site

Department: Therapy Services

Facility: Capital Region Medical Center, 1125 Madison St, Jefferson City, MO 65101

Compensation:

  • Base Pay Range: $30.64 per hour
  • Shift Differentials:
    • Additional $2.00 per hour for evening shift
    • Additional $2.00 per hour for weekend shift
    • Additional $4.00 per hour for weekend evening

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Actively identify and participate in training, education, development activities, and/or supervise Certified Occupational Therapy students to improve own knowledge and performance, including acquiring the CEU's needed to maintain state licensure in the State of Missouri.
  • Administer treatment that requires the advanced skills of a licensed clinician.
  • Assist an Occupational Therapist in carrying out the occupational therapy plan of care.
  • Complete documentation according to MU Health Care and department guidelines and policies.
  • In accordance with physician orders, skillfully provide modalities including, but not limited to, splint fabrication, casting, and compression garment measurement/fitting.
  • Maintain standards in accordance with the code of ethics of the AOTA and the State of Missouri Practice Act to maintain eligibility for licensure.
  • May complete unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) licensure or OTA Limited Permit by the Missouri Board of Occupational Therapy or OTA Compact multi-state privilege. When primary state of residency changes, compact state OTAs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. OTA Limited Permit holders must be a graduate of an OTA program.

  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs.

This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required.
