A healthcare organization in Chillicothe seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to treat patients and assist with training. Responsibilities include documenting treatment notes, communicating with healthcare teams, and participating in discharge planning. Candidates must be licensed and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per OT Board regulations. Follow the physician treatment plan. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisors and other health team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans. Participate in in-service training programs for staff. Document evaluations, treatment notes, progress notes, recertification, and treatment changes according to Occupational Therapy Board, state, and third-party requirements. Instruct patients' families and nursing staff in maintenance and caregiver training for discharge. Participate in discharge planning. Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Report equipment issues to ensure proper functioning. Maintain positive, effective relationships with patients, families, staff, and colleagues. This position is non-supervisory.
