Post-Acute Rehab Solutions is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide client-centered home health services in Garland, TX. You will support everyday living activities, adapt treatment plans, and empower clients to perform tasks independently in their homes, workplaces, and communities.

The role emphasizes a holistic approach, with emphasis on ADLs/IADLs, family education, and ongoing progress documentation.

Qualifications

• COTA certification is required.
• Home care or rehab experience is preferred.
• Proven working experience as Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Excellent knowledge of Occupational Therapy principles and practices.
• Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media.

Responsibilities

• Address client’s performance aspects to support engagement in occupations affecting health and well-being.
• Select and adapt the occupational therapy treatment model and approach per case.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in ADLs and IADLs.
• Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and break down activities into achievable components.
• Assess client’s home and environments and advise on adaptations.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
• Guide and educate family and caregivers.
• Observe, note, and report progress of treatment goals.
• Collect data and document processes followed.
• Regularly follow-up with client.

Responsibilities

• Address client’s aspects of performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being, and life quality.
• Select and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method, and approach to direct the process of interventions.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL)

Requirements

• COTA certification required
• Home care or rehab experience preferred
• Proven working experience as Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of Occupational Therapy
• Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media
• Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools (e.g., Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale)
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices per discipline and drive to continually learn and grow in the profession.
