PARS Therapy in Aubrey, TX is hiring a committed home health Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to help individuals develop, recover, or sustain vital daily living and work skills. The role emphasizes holistic, client-centered care, tailoring environments to fit each person’s unique needs.

As a COTA, you will address ADLs/IADLs, select suitable treatment approaches, and collaborate with families to improve safety and independence in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• COTA certification required.
• Home care or rehab experience preferred.
• Proven working experience as Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
• Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of Occupational Therapy.
• Hands-on computer skills and familiarity with assessment tools.
• Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools (Katz ADL, Lawton IADL).
• Ability to manage clients with different personalities.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and growth in the profession.

Responsibilities

• Address client’s performance to support engagement in occupations that affect health, well-being, and life quality.
• Select and adapt the appropriate per case occupational therapy treatment model, method, and approach to direct the process of interventions.
• Apply interventions to maximize safety and performance in ADL and IADL.
• Teach clients new ways of approaching tasks and educate them on how to break down activities into achievable components.
• Assess client’s home and other environments and advise on alterations.
• Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use.
• Guide and educate family members and caregivers.
• Observe, note, and report on progress of long- and short-term treatment goals.
• Collect data and document processes followed.
• Regularly follow-up with client.
