Job summary

SSM Health Day Institute is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our outpatient rehabilitation program in Sunset Hills, MO. The role supports the therapy team in a neurology-focused, multi-disciplinary setting.

You will work Monday through Friday, 8am-4:30pm, under supervision, helping implement the plan of care, coordinating with staff, and contributing to patient education and safety.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in OTA program is required.
• Current and valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA is required.
• CPR certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of a licensed OT, assists with the implementation of the therapy plan of care.
• Responsible for delegation and direction of supportive personnel for those assigned patients, to enhance patient care services.
• Consistently communicates with supervising OT regarding scheduled patients to identify needs for assessment, reassessment, and modification of treatment plans.
• Participates in educating patients, families, students, coworkers and self.
• Performs other professional duties associated with the care of the patient, within the scope of practice.
