Job summary

Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in West Orange, NJ is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a per diem/PRN schedule from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM on weekdays and for weekend needs. The position offers compensation of $42/hr and inpatient rehabilitation experience.

You will work under an Occupational Therapist to serve patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, and other complex conditions.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligibility.
• Certified BLS or completion within 90 days of employment as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment in collaboration with an OT.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.

As a COTA you will be reporting directly to the Occupational Therapist, you will be treating patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses.
