Gottsche Rehabilitation in Thermopolis, Wyoming is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a full-time position. Work under an Occupational Therapist and Clinical Manager to help patients regain independence and improve quality of life across outpatient rehab, hospital swing bed, and other clinic programs.

• Applies academic training and practical experience to patient/family needs.
• Demonstrates competency in implementation of treatment plans.
• Documents progress and communicates with care team.
• Evaluates effectiveness of plan and modifies as indicated by supervisor.
• Maintains interpersonal skills with families, physicians, patients and others involved in care.
• Provides information at meetings such as team/family conferences and home health conferences.
• Maintains knowledge of therapy techniques and continuing education per licensure.
• Assists in treatments and ensures accuracy and appropriateness of care.

What You'll Do:

Working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist and Clinical Manager, you'll help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life by:

• Implementing individualized treatment plans
• Educating patients and caregivers
• Documenting progress and communicating with the care team
• Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Helping patients improve functional independence in everyday activities
• Participating in swing bed activities programming
• Maintaining accurate documentation and regulatory compliance

• You'll work with patients across a variety of settings, including outpatient rehabilitation, hospital swing bed, and other programs depending on clinic needs.

Qualifications

• Applies skills learned during academic training, educational programs, and practical experience to treat patient/family needs
• Demonstrates competency in implementation of treatment plans.
• Documents appropriately.
• Evaluates effectiveness of plan and modifies as indicated, following consulting the Occupational Therapist
• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills when interacting with families, physicians, patients and others involved in a patient's care to promote an environment of cooperation and respect.
• Provides appropriate information at meetings such as team and family conferences, home health conferences, clinic meetings and others as necessary
• Maintains current knowledge of therapy techniques appropriate to the patients at Gottsche Performance & Longevity Center through the attendance of in-service classes and the appropriate amount of continuing education as required by state licensure.
• Assists in appropriate treatments or portions thereof, assesses the accuracy, thoroughness and appropriateness of the care they provide and then provide feedback to the Clinical Manager
• Seeks necessary information and input from staff, physicians and other health care professionals to ensure ongoing appropriate patient care.
• Has knowledge in the use of therapy devices including exercise tables, fitness equipment, assistive devices, wheelchairs, pulleys, weights and other equipment common to the practice of occupational therapy
• Demonstrates an awareness of safety in all aspects of patient care.
• Performs other duties related to the position as needed. Job duties subject to change as the department evolves and changes.
