Job summary

Gottsche Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant in Basin, Wyoming. The position offers full-time hours and pay between $25.00-$34.00 per hour DOE, with opportunities for growth and a supportive interdisciplinary team.

You will implement treatment plans, educate patients and caregivers, document progress, and collaborate with the care team to promote independence and safety in daily activities across multiple care settings.

Qualifications

  • Applies skills learned during academic training to treat patient/family needs.
  • Demonstrates competency in implementation of treatment plans.
  • Documents appropriately within the care team and charting requirements.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of plan and modifies as indicated by the OT supervisor.
  • Interacts with families, physicians and others to promote cooperation and respect.
  • Provides information at team, home health and clinic meetings as needed.
  • Maintains knowledge of therapy techniques through continuing education as licensure requires.
  • Assists in treatments or portions thereof and provides feedback to the Clinical Manager.
  • Seeks input from staff and health care professionals for ongoing patient care.
  • Knowledge of therapy devices including exercise tables, equipment, wheelschairs, weights.

What You'll Do:

Working under the direction of an Occupational Therapist and Clinical Manager, you'll help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life by:

  • Implementing individualized treatment plans
  • Educating patients and caregivers
  • Documenting progress and communicating with the care team
  • Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Helping patients improve functional independence in everyday activities
  • Participating in swing bed activities programming
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and regulatory compliance
  • Promoting patient safety and exceptional patient experiences
  • You'll work with patients across a variety of settings, including outpatient rehabilitation, hospital swing bed, and other programs depending on clinic needs.

Qualifications:
  • Applies skills learned during academic training, educational programs, and practical experience to treat patient/family needs
  • Demonstrates competency in implementation of treatment plans.
  • Documents appropriately.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of plan and modifies as indicated, following consulting the Occupational Therapist
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills when interacting with families, physicians, patients and others involved in a patient's care to promote an environment of cooperation and respect.
  • Provides appropriate information at meetings such as team and family conferences, home health conferences, clinic meetings and others as necessary
  • Maintains current knowledge of therapy techniques appropriate to the patients at Gottsche Performance & Longevity Center through the attendance of in-service classes and the appropriate amount of continuing education as required by state licensure.
  • Assists in appropriate treatments or portions thereof, assesses the accuracy, thoroughness and appropriateness of the care they provide and then provides feedback to the Clinical Manager
  • Seeks necessary information and input from staff, physicians and other health care professionals to ensure ongoing appropriate patient care.
  • Has knowledge in the use of therapy devices including exercise tables, fitness equipment, assistive devices, wheelchairs, pulleys, weights and other equipment common to the practice of occupational therapy
  • Demonstrates an awareness of safety in all aspects of patient care.
  • Performs other duties related to the position as needed. Job duties subject to change as the department evolves and changes.
