Job summary

Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY is seeking an Obstetrical Technician for Labor and Delivery Einstein. You will scrub and assist with deliveries and OB procedures, ensuring availability of instrumentation and supplies for operations.

Responsibilities include sterile technique, assisting in OR procedures, nursing support, and safe handling of specimens. Requires surgical tech training, CST credentialing, and BLS certification, with night hours 7 PM–8 AM.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a surgical technologist training program.
• Possess or obtain certification as a surgical technologist within 12 months.
• Knowledge of electric powered surgical hand tools and instruments.
• BLS certified.
• Knowledge of PC workstations and basic computer navigation.
• OHS Fit Test / OHS Annual Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties and provides direct care within the OR setting.
• Maintains sterile technique and asepsis 100% of the time.
• Follows standard operating room procedures during procedures.
• Cares for specimens as directed.
• Maintains order in operative suites and related areas; manages supplies.
• Safeguards patient safety and responds to emergencies.
• Performs similar duties as required by supervisor or RN.
