State of South Carolina is seeking an Orientation and Mobility specialist to assess and enhance independence for students who are blind or visually impaired. You will work with school staff to schedule visits and deliver O&M therapy.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Orientation and Mobility with ACVREP certification and experience with visually impaired students; interview may require verification of education and licensure.

Qualifications

• Degree in Orientation and Mobility with ACVREP certification.
• Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired.

Responsabilités

• Collaborate with school/agency staff to schedule visits and provide O&M therapy to increase specific skills.
• Consult with parents, medical staff, teachers and other professionals regarding students' needs.
• Evaluate orientation and mobility skills and related vision-specific needs.
• Develop individualized educational treatment plans for O&M instruction.
• Provide O&M instruction to families of infants and toddlers who are blind in natural environments.
