Job summary

StoneBridge Pocahontas in Pocahontas, AR is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff in delivering compassionate resident care. You will assist with daily living activities, coordinate dining, monitor intake and document changes per care plans.

Requirements include CNA certification or state-approved program, High School diploma, CPR/BLS preferred, and 1 year in long-term care. Strong communication and teamwork are essential to support residents and families.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Aide must be in good standing or graduate of a state-approved nursing assistant training program and pass a state-approved competency examination (written and skills) within 120 days of employment.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as a certified nursing assistant in long-term care preferred.
• Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication in an interdisciplinary care setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides supportive services to nurse(s) and other staff as needed and performs duties as assigned.
• Assists resident with activities of daily living in accordance with care plans and policies.
• Assists resident with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting.
• Coordinates dining room services at mealtimes, including setup, delivery, feeding, and documentation.
• Delivers nutritional supplements to residents and documents intake.
• Assists with weighing residents and reports weight changes.
• Tracks resident skin condition and reports issues to nurse/supervisor.
• Assists with toileting program activities and completes flow sheets daily.
• Keeps nurse and supervisor informed of factors affecting performance.

A Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for supporting medical staff in administering care to residents with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. The position requires patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the elderly in a gentle and empathetic manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provides supportive services to nurse(s) and other staff as needed and performs duties as assigned.
• Assists resident with or performs activities of daily living for resident in accordance with care plans and established policies and procedures.
• Assists resident with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts, etc.
• Coordinates dining room services at assigned mealtimes, including set-up and clean-up, meal tray delivery, feeding assistance, and documentation of meal intake.
• Delivers nutritional supplements to residents at assigned times and provides assistance as necessary to ensure intake. Documents intake accordingly.
• Assists with weighing residents according to facility policy, and records weight in designated locations. Reports weight changes to nurse and supervisor.
• Assists with tracking the condition of the resident’s skin. Reports any presence of pressure areas, skin breakdown or skin tears to nurse and supervisor.
• Assists nursing staff in carrying out toileting program activities.
• Completes flow sheets daily to indicate that the specified task was done. Documents the progress of each resident as directed by supervisor.
• Keeps nurse and supervisor informed of factors that interfere with being able to perform the work as assigned (i.e., resident refusal, reassigned to nursing unit).
• Reports changes in a resident’s condition to the resident’s nurse and supervisor.
