Job summary

Jimmy Jazz in Idaho is seeking a qualified Ophthalmology Assistant (CNA) to join a fast-paced clinical team. You will collect patient histories, assist with diagnostic testing, and support physicians across three clinic locations in Ponderay and surrounding areas.

The role emphasizes precise documentation, strong ocular knowledge, and teamwork to ensure exceptional patient care and smooth clinic operations. Training and ongoing CE opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior Ophthalmology Assistant experience required.
• Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy and medical terminology.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient histories including chief complaint, health background, medications, and allergies.
• Perform diagnostic procedures: lensometry, refractometry, tonometry (Tonopen), muscle balance testing, pupil and anterior chamber assessments, visual field testing.
• Administer and document tests such as OCT, topography, and visual fields.
• Assist physicians with injections and minor surgeries, ensuring proper setup and documentation.
• Scribe during exams and accurately enter data into EMR or paper charts.
• Coordinate referrals, outside testing, and lab work.
• Educate patients and assist with medication management.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness, stock supplies, and calibrate equipment.
• Rotate between three clinic locations based on operational needs.
