Job summary

Valley Health System in Virginia is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to support patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. You will perform routine personal care, maintain a safe environment, and report issues promptly to the care team.

As experience grows, you may serve as a preceptor for new CNAs, contributing to onboarding and quality patient care at Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center.

Qualifications

• Must understand basic principles of human growth and development.
• Interact with patients according to their age and needs.
• Reliable means of phone communication with hospital.
• Must obtain Valley Health annual flu vaccination if employed in Long-Term Care areas.

Job Description

The CNA, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, performs routine personal care duties for patients. Maintains a safe environment and reports any problems. Supports the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center. Once experienced, may act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNA's.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certification & Licensures

Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide required. Must be listed on the relevant Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia and/or West Virginia based on work location(s) within Valley Health. BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required. New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.

Qualifications
