This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The CNA is expected to demonstrate compassion, professionalism, creativity, and accountability while contributing to exceptional resident outcomes.

  4. Safety, Infection Control, and Regulatory Compliance: Follows infection control, OSHA, HIPAA, resident safety, and applicable regulatory standards. Maintains vigilance over residents by ensuring call lights are within reach, beds are in the lowest appropriate position, side rails are used as indicated, and rooms remain neat, orderly, and free of hazards.
  5. Resident Support and Communication: Provides encouragement and respectful support to residents and family members, responds promptly to call lights, escorts residents to departments or services as needed, and assists with admissions, transfers, discharges, and transportation to vehicles or other locations.
  6. Specialized Care Needs: Supports residents with specialized needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, by applying appropriate memory-care strategies, behavioral support techniques, and resident-centered approaches.

Formal Training: Must demonstrate a working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Prior experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities is preferred, as it supports the ability to provide compassionate, resident-centered care.
