Job summary

Strategis Consulting in Georgia is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide to provide direct resident care in the Care Center under the supervision of the Charge Nurse and CNA Supervisor. The role emphasizes communication with medical staff, confidentiality, and a semi-autonomous approach in a fast-paced setting.

Ideal candidates hold a Georgia Certified Nurse Aide Certification with current BLS CPR, and meet the educational requirement of high school completion or CNA training; one year of healthcare

Qualifications

  • Education level equivalent to completion of high school or CNA training.
  • Must have Georgia Certified Nurse Aide Certification and current BLS CPR.
  • One year healthcare CNA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct resident care as assigned by Charge Nurse, including AM/PM care, backrubs, ambulation, and dietary support.
  • Assist with dressing, changing bed linens, and ensuring safety.
  • Carry out special orders and treatments under Charge Nurse direction (e.g., measurements, specimens, docs).
  • Maintain infection control, OSHA, and safety standards.
  • Observe residents and report changes; document status on care sheets and communicate with nursing staff.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges; respond to call lights promptly.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Charge Nurse and CNA Supervisor, the Certified Nurse Aide will assume direct care for residents in the Care Center in accordance with TJC, federal, state, and local guidelines, organizational and departmental policies, and procedures. Communicates with medical staff, other departments, and outside agencies while maintaining confidentiality. The position requires self-motivation, creativity, and capabilities to function in a semi-autonomous role within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
  • Assumes direct resident care responsibilities as assigned by the Charge Nurse, to include, but not be limited to AM, PM care, backrubs, assisting with ambulation, assisting with dietary needs, dressing and undressing residents, and changing bed linen.
  • Carries out Special Orders or treatments as directed by the Charge Nurse, to include, but not be limited to special skincare, collecting specimens, intake and output measurements and documentation, vital signs, compresses, and enemas.
  • Ensures adherence to proper infection control, OSHA and safety standards.
  • Provides encouragement to residents and family members.
  • Observes the resident's condition and report immediately any untoward signs, symptoms, or unusual occurrences.
  • Maintains current documentation of resident status on Activity of Daily Living Sheet and gives report to Charge Nurse.
  • Assists in admission, transfer, and discharge of residents.
  • Answers resident call-lights quickly, whether that of assigned resident or not.
  • Escorts resident to other hospital services and/or departments as needed.
  • Accepts and completes Special Assignments in a timely manner.
  • Assists other staff in the completion of their duties.
  • Maintains certification in accordance with hospital, state, federal, and TJC regulations and guidelines, including 12 hours of resident-related Inservice Education yearly to maintain state certification.
  • Maintains constant vigilance over residents, taking necessary safety precautions (rails up, call lights within reach, bed in lower position).
  • Maintains residents’ room in a neat, orderly manner with clear walk areas.
  • Assists residents to a car or other transport vehicle.
  • Transports residents, supplies, specimens, etc., as needed.
  • Relieves in other areas as necessary.
Requirements

Minimum Level of Education: Education level equivalent to completion of high school, and or completion of Certified Nurse Aide Training course of study.

Formal Training: None

Licensure, Certification, Registration: Must have and maintain a valid unencumbered Georgia Certified Nurse Aid Certification, and current Basic Life Support CPR certification.

Work Experience: One-year of experience in healthcare as a CNA is preferred.
