- Position: Certified Nursing Assistant / Patient Care Associate
- Location: Medical Center
- Status: Full Time / Part Time / PRN
- Shifts: Day/ Night
- Pay: $16.48 - $20.60 / hourly
Summary
- This position works under the direction of an RN/LPN or Provider and administers quality patient care according to established standards. May be required to work in other areas according to skill of staff and acuity of patients. Provides exceptional service to all patients and customers.
- This position works under the supervision of the Director and is employed by Mosaic Health System.
Duties
- Completes daily Activities of Daily Living to meet patient’s needs i.e. personal hygiene, dressing patients, linen change.
- Feeding patients as indicated; Records food and fluid intake and output when appropriate.
- Takes and records vital signs including pulse oximetry.
- Transports patients as appropriate.
- Lifts, turns, repositions and ambulates patients, alone or with assistance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- All required education is a minimum requirement. Higher levels of education are acceptable. H.S. Diploma required.
- PCA education requirements:
a. an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) training program in the last three years, or
b. a fundamentals of nursing course, or
c. a certified nursing assistant program with obtainment of certification (C.N.A.), or
d. a graduate of a professional or practical nursing program who did not pass the state licensure examination in the past three years or
e. A graduate of a professional or practical nursing program outside the United States and awaiting licensure in this country. - BCLS - Basic Life Support required within 90 days of hire. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and any other required training by the organization within 90 days of hire is required.
- In lieu of a. through e. listed above in the Education section, documented experience as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician, or surgical technician in the past three (3) years is required. In Home Health, 6 months of Hospital/Nursing Home experience is preferred.
