The CNA is primarily responsible for providing direct care and person centered supports to residents with complex physical, intellectual, medical, and behavioral needs. CNA's focus on providing services to enhance the quality of life of their residents in a caring home environment with dignity and respect, offering choices and options to support individuality. In the Nursing Facility, duties include completing Nursing Assistant assignments while maintaining optimal gross/fine motor skills, ensuring activities of daily living (mealtime, dressing, bathing, grooming, etc.) while supporting the highest level of practicable independence. This position is responsible for ensuring all health and safety needs are met for assigned residents per regulatory guidelines. CNA's are responsible for ensuring confidentiality and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA) in all aspects of communication. CNA's work a schedule that includes weekends, holidays, mandatory reporting during inclement weather, due to the facility providing services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We provide schedule options to include: 8-hour Day, Evening, and Night; 12-Hour Day and Night schedules and part-time/flexible schedules.

Shift Premiums Are Applied As Follows

Day Shift - Saturday and Sunday 5%

Evening Shift - Monday-Friday 10%, Saturday and Sunday 15%

Night Shift - Monday-Thursday 10%, Friday-Sunday 15%

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) required upon employment

This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies

  • Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant and listed in good standings with the North Carolina Health Care Personnel Registry.

Minimum Education And Experience Requirements

High school or General Educational Development diploma;

OR

an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Condition for Continued Employment As required, listing as a Nurse Aide I by the North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation. As applicable, listing as a Nurse Aide II by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. As applicable, North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification.

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.This Sign-on Bonus is contingent upon budget and final eligibility determination as of the effective date of hire.   • Eligibility for Referral BonusThe bonus is paid to an O'Berry employee who refers another employee who is hired as a Health Care Technician I position at O'Berry. The applicant must provide the referring employee's full name on the supplemental question section of their initial application. If a referred candidate lists more than one referring candidate, the bonus is split pro rata between all eligible referring employees. For the referring employee to receive the referral bonus, the referred candidate must be hired by O'Berry and must both remain an employee at O'Berry for at least 90 days. No referring employee may receive more than five referral bonuses under this policy per fiscal year.

To Receive a Referral Bonus

  • The referring employee must have no active disciplinary actions. (2) The referring employee must not be involved in deciding who is hired or selected for the position. Similarly, the referring employee must not directly or indirectly supervise the referred candidate in the management chain.
  • The referred candidate cannot be an immediate family member of the referring employee. Definition of Immediate Family
  • The bonuses are available only if the referred candidate has not been an employee of the agency for at least one year.
  • The referred candidate may not be a temporary employee, current state employee or current contractor to the agency,
  • Temporary Solutions and Agency/Contractors are not eligible to receive referral bonuses.
