We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at HUP. This role offers an opportunity to grow your career in a Magnet-designated organization that values excellence, integrity, diversity, professionalism, and teamwork.

About the MICU

The Founders 8 MICU at HUP has 12 beds and manages critically ill medical patients with conditions such as ARDS, sepsis, renal failure, oncologic emergencies, cardiac arrest, and liver failure patients awaiting transplant. As a CNA, you will deliver exceptional care with professionalism and compassion.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate care, actively listen, respond promptly, and respect cultural sensitivities.
  • Participate in RN/CNA handoffs and unit huddles.
  • Communicate with patients to assess needs and provide emotional support.
  • Answer call signals and assist with daily living activities while maintaining patient dignity.
  • Report patient data and observations accurately and timely.
  • Gather information from healthcare team members about patient conditions.
  • Record vital signs and document patient behaviors or symptoms.
  • Support safety and quality initiatives and foster a positive patient environment.
Credentials and Education
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
  • Certified Nurse Aid (Required)
  • CNA Certification by the State of Pennsylvania
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • Preferred: Enrollment in an accredited BSN program, with clinical coursework completed with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
