Cape Fear Valley Health System in North Carolina is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the 2 West unit at Central Harnett Hospital in Lillington. The role performs basic patient care, assists with admissions and daily unit operations, and supports patient safety and cleanliness.

Required are a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA certification, and NC registration. Strong communication, teamwork, and basic computer skills are essential; BLS certification is required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in admission of patients and orient them to the unit and hospital routines
• Respond to patient needs and report changes to the appropriate staff
• Carry out delegated patient care tasks to support the nursing plan of care
• Maintain patient safety through proper use of equipment and supplies
• Access medication/supply room to retrieve patient care items
• Keep patient environment clean and well-stocked
• Assist with cost containment and accurate charging for services
• Participate in educational and Performance Improvement activities
• Meet unit competency requirements as needed
• Perform waived testing per unit competency
• Support HIP initiatives and patient throughput
• Other duties as assigned

• Assists in the admission of patients to the unit to include orientation to the unit, hospital routine and patient care equipment
• Responds to needs of patients with direct assistance when able or by reporting patient needs to the appropriate person
• Assists with implementation of nursing plan of care by carrying out delegated patient care tasks
• Assists in maintaining patient safety to include the proper use of equipment and supplies
• Access to medication/supply room to retrieve patient care items for patient care use
• Maintains a well-stocked, clean patient environment
• Actively participates in cost containment and assists in accurate charging for patient services
• Participates in educational and Performance Improvement activities
• Maintains (if needed) 4 of NAII skills per unit competency
• Performs waived testing per unit competency
• Actively demonstrates responsibility concerning customer satisfaction, patient throughput and hospital functional capacity through compliance with the Hospital Innovation Project (HIP)
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:

Education and Formal Training :

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Nursing Assistant certification required
• Current registration with North Carolina Division of Facility Services

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language

• Ability to accept supervision from a multidisciplinary team

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to work variable shifts
• Ability to turn and lift patients
• Much standing, walking, bending and lifting
• Possess visual and auditory acuity for observing patients
• Position involves exposure to blood and body secretions and may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
• Must be able to lift 35 pounds
