Under the direction of the Nurse Manager or Director, this position provides professional, skilled age-specific nursing care for patients in collaboration with the physician and other disciplines. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs patient-related tasks, including direct patient care, vital signs, daily ADLs, clinical procedures, and other tasks as requested. The CNA will also communicate patient needs and observe/report changes in the patient's condition to the supervising Nurse or Physician while documenting all interactions in the patient's medical record.

Compensation:

Hourly Pay Rate: $24.00

The night shift pay differential will be paid at 18% of the employee's base rate of pay. The weekend shift pay differential will be paid at 8% of the employee's base rate of pay.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Prefers a high school diploma or GED.

Experience:

• Prefer at least one (1) year of relevant nursing assistant or healthcare-related experience.

Specialized Training:

• Must successfully complete approved Valleywise Health computer classes.

Certification/Licensure:

• Requires licensure through the AZ Board of Nursing as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.
• For Ambulatory Clinics/Desert Vista - Unit 2 Adolescent: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within 90 days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.

• Bilingual is preferred.
• Must have the ability to work with culturally diverse people.
• Requires excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills.
• Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
• Must be able to float to all departments as needed.
• Must meet the conditions as stated in the employment agreement.
