Pardee UNC Health Care in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a Clinical Nursing Assistant to coordinate and deliver patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, obtaining equipment, observing and documenting patient information, helping with admissions and discharges, and performing routine care such as vital signs, specimen collection, wound care, and ADL support. Onsite, part-time, 24 hours per week.

Formación

• Must hold nursing assistant certification (Nurse Aide I registration by the NC Board of Nursing).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsabilidades

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, and procure equipment and supplies as needed.
• Observe, document, and report patient information and changes to a nurse or physician.
• Assist patients and families during admission, orientation, and discharge.
• Provide care per plan of care including monitoring vital signs, measuring height/weight, specimen collection, CHG bathing, catheter care, and GLU checks.
• Support ADLs such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and ambulation.
• Maintain a clean work area, manage supplies, and transport patients/specimens as required.

Summary

The Clinical Nursing Assistant is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process under the direction of a Registered Nurse in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and other health care providers with routine examinations and procedures, as well as procurement of equipment and supplies during emergency situations.
• Observes, collects, and documents patient information obtained while providing care and promptly report significant changes in the patient's condition to a registered nurse or physician.
• Assists patients and their families during admission to the clinical area, orientation to the hospital/clinic/home health experience, and discharge.
• Provides care/ treatments to patients as outlined in plan of care including, but not limited to:
• Monitoring of vital signs
• Measurement of height and weight
• Specimen collection
• Skin preps/scrubs such as chlorohexidine (CHG) bathing
• Catheter care
• Capillary blood glucose checks
• Simple wound care
• Range-of-motion exercises
• Drain care
• Assist patients with routine activities of daily living (ADL) such as bathing, dressing, feeding and assisting with ambulation as outlined in plan of care
• Maintains an effective clinical work environment including but not limited to cleaning the work area, changing linens, maintaining and monitoring supply levels, and transporting patients / specimens throughout hospital.
• Ensures competency in all required skills and completes competency assessment annually per the documented competency checklist. Adheres to documented policies and processes as well as performing other related duties as assigned.
