Job summary

Las Cruces Wellness is seeking compassionate people to join our team as Nurse Aides in Las Cruces, NM. This full-time role entails providing basic nursing care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and following established procedures.

Shifts are 6am–6pm. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k). Prior Nurse Aide training is required; experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write clearly.
• Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff.
• Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation completed and in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Participates in nursing report upon reporting for duty.
• Assists residents with care including bathing, grooming, hygiene and adaptive equipment.
• Explains procedures to residents before administering.
• Keeps residents dry and changes gowns/linens as needed.
• Changes bed linens and keeps them tight to avoid wrinkles.
• Makes beds for both occupied and unoccupied residents.

Objective

Provides basic nursing care to residents within the scope of the nursing assistant responsibilities and performs basic nursing procedures under the direction of the licensed nurse supervisor.

Principal Responsibilities

• Participates in and receives nursing report upon reporting for duty
• Assists residents with resident care including bathing, grooming, hygiene and placement of adaptive equipment
• Explains procedures to residents before administering
• Keeps residents dry (changes gown, clothing, linen, etc., when it becomes wet or soiled)
• Changes bed linens and keeps linens tight to avoid wrinkles from forming under residents
• Makes beds (occupied and unoccupied)

Qualifications

• Successful completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program; Name must appear on State Registry as Nurse Aide in good standing; Ability to communicate with residents and nursing staff; Must have the ability to read and write.
• Prior experience as Nurse Aide preferred but not required
