Job summary

Morton General Hospital is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support nursing staff in providing care to patients. ## Certified Nursing Assistant (CPT)### Category:Nursing and Nursing Administration### Description:The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support to nursing staff and ensures the well-being of patients in a hospital setting. This role involves direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities, and maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for patients.### Minimum qualifications:* Current Nursing Assistant Certification in the State of Washington with annual renewal required.* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire through American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent organization.**Primary job responsibilities*** **Patient Care:** Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, and mobility.* **Vital Signs Monitoring:** Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.* **Patient Mobility:** Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and ambulation to promote comfort and prevent falls.* **Personal Hygiene:** Provide or assist with personal hygiene tasks, including oral care, toileting, and incontinence care.* **Feeding Assistance:** Help patients with eating and drinking, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.* **Patient Monitoring:** Observe and report changes in patient conditions, behaviors, or complaints to the nursing staff.* **Documentation:** Accurately document patient care activities, vital signs, and observations in the medical record.* **Safety and Infection Control:** Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment.* **Emotional Support:** Provide compassionate and empathetic support to patients and their families, addressing their emotional and psychological needs.* **Team Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.* **Equipment and Supplies:** Assist with the use of medical equipment and ensure that supplies are stocked and readily available.* **Emergency Response:** Respond promptly to patient emergencies and assist with emergency procedures as needed.### Standard for portrayal of mission and values:* Employee demonstrates and fosters the Lewis County Hospital District No. 1 core values of - One team, on Mission.
