Overview

A Home Health Aide/CNA/STNA provides personal care and related services to home health patients, nursing homes, and inpatient units, following an established care plan and under supervision of a registered nurse or therapist. Responsibilities include observing, reporting, and documenting patient care and responses.

Part Time 1st

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care activities such as hygiene, mobility, and elimination as prescribed.
• Maintain a safe environment and use equipment properly.
• Practice universal precautions at all times.
• Assist with home maintenance activities like light housekeeping and meal prep.
• Monitor and record patient vital signs and body functions.
• Use proper techniques for transfers, ambulation, and positioning.
• Identify and report needs for intervention to the RN or Clinical Manager.
• Respect patient confidentiality and autonomy.
• Document all care and responses accurately and timely.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
• Manage caseload efficiently and uphold service standards.
• Conduct all activities professionally and ethically.

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved CNA/STNA training program and certification on the Ohio Nurse Aide Registry.
• At least 75 hours of classroom and practical training as a home health aide.
• Passing score on a competency test prior to independent work.

Qualifications

• Ohio CNA/STNA certification.
• Good communication, documentation skills, and ability to lift and transfer patients safely.
• Minimum age 18.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and reliable insured transportation.
• Satisfactory references and criminal background check.
