Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Oncology Department. The role supports RN-led care, performs vital signs and ADLs, and upholds safety standards.

Part-time, 24 hours per week with day shifts and every-other weekend rotation, in a faith-based hospital network in Montgomery County, MD. The ideal candidate will have a Maryland CNA license, completion of a CNA program, BLS, and prior acute care exposure.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CNA program completion and CNA exam required.
  • Maryland CNA license and active registry required.
  • AHA BLS certification required.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic and communicate effectively.

Shady Grove Medical Center

Shady Grove seeks to hire a Certified Nursing Assistant for our Oncology Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities
  • Perform various service duties and routine technical tasks such as vital signs and activities of daily living under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Specific duties may vary by area of assignment.
  • Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.
  • Participates in department and organizational education programs, meetings, committees, and professional initiatives
  • Commits to personal, professional development in order to adapt effectively to ongoing change
  • Presents a positive and professional image to represent nursing and the organization
  • Follows the care plan as established and delegated by the Registered Nurse
  • Receives report from the Registered Nurse
  • Ensures a culture of safety
  • Identifies resources necessary for safe delivery of patient care
  • Appropriately utilizes resources
  • Identifies and reports malfunctioning/expired equipment and supplies
  • Ensures work areas and equipment are cleaned and stored appropriately
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Successful completion of a CNA or first year Nursing School Program and successful completion of the CNA exam required
  • Maryland CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) License required
  • Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maryland and be on the State of Maryland Registry
  • Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to read, write and speak English in order to communicate effectively
  • Physical ability to meet job requirements of lifting, bending and turning.
  • Experience in acute care clinical setting preferred.

Pay Range: $19.21 - $24.90 If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process. Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as: United States of America (Non-Exempt)
