Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina's MUSC Health Chester Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to join our fast growing Medical Surgical team. The CNA/PCT works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and provides multi-skilled patient care to support comfort, safety and personal needs.

Job Description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Patient Care Technician (PCT) works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA/PCT performs multi-skilled duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the patient.

Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Assists patients with personal hygiene, dressing, walking. Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation to tests and procedures. May serve and collect food trays and provide patients with between-meal nourishment. May record temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.

Additional Job Description

Minimum Education

A high school diploma or GED required.

Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations

If currently registered as a Certified Nurse Assistant in South Carolina; must keep certification current. Will be required to maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
