Job summary

Select Medical’s Rush Specialty Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation in Chicago, IL is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for PRN/Per Diem, 12-hour shifts. The CNA provides compassionate patient care, assists with activities of daily living, and supports the clinical team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include bathing patients, oral hygiene and feeding, hourly rounds, transporting patients, and keeping rooms and equipment clean.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or related work experience.
• Nursing assistant certification or equivalent experience in healthcare.
• BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• Requires hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
