Job summary

Lutheran Senior Services is seeking a caring Certified Nursing Assistant to provide daily supportive and functional care for residents in a compassionate environment. You will work with an interdisciplinary team, assisting with ADLs, mobility, meals, and comfort while respecting resident autonomy and dignity.

The role requires CNA certification in MO/IL/PA enrollment eligibility, strong communication with residents and families, and a willingness to work weekends and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• CNA certification required or eligible for PA/Nursing registry enrollment.
• Ability to communicate clearly with residents and families.
• Experience in direct resident care preferred.
• Willingness to work weekends and varied shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and comfort.
• Respond to call lights and resident requests.
• Document care provided in clinical records accurately.
• Support residents in daily routines and mobility.
• Assist with meals and feeding as needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
• Collaborate with nursing staff on care plans.
• Support resident participation in decision making.
• Observe and report changes in resident condition to licensed staff.

Job Description:SummaryProvides daily supportive and functional care to residents in a compassionate environment according to established community care procedures as directed by nursing leadership. Works as a collaborative member of an interdisciplinary team that focuses on the resident as the director of their own care.Job Responsibilities1. Maintains residents’ comfort; provides physical care with activities of daily living according to scope of practice; answers resident’s call lights and requests; reports observations of residents to the nurse2. Handles residents’ personal care needs and support in a timely manner; helps maintain residents’ dignity by letting them do as much for themselves as possible3. Observes residents closely to identify changing needs and conditions and reports information to the nurse4. Actively participates in residents’ care/service plans for the purpose of improving residents’ lives5. Assists residents during mealtimes and feeds residents who need full assistance6. Creates and maintains meaningful relationships with residents and their families; provides support with compassion and professionalism7.
