Position Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $28.20 -$30.49 per hour based on experience per the Unit D Salary Scale

General Description:

The 1:1 Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides individualized health support and direct care for a designated student during the school day under the supervision of the school nurse. This role ensures the student’s health, safety, and well-being, allowing for full participation in educational activities.

Responsibilities:

• Personal Care: Assist the assigned student with activities of daily living, including toileting, diapering, hygiene, and feeding.
• Mobility Support: Provide safe lifting, transferring, and mobility assistance throughout the school day.
• Medical Support: Deliver first aid and provide ongoing health-related care as directed by the school nurse.
• Health Monitoring: Observe and track the student’s health status, including vital signs and any changes in condition, reporting promptly to the school nurse.
• Emergency Response: Respond quickly to health-related emergencies for the assigned student.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the school nurse, teachers, and therapists to support the student’s individualized health and educational plan.

Safety and Environment: Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for the assigned student at all times.

Qualifications Required:

• Patience, empathy, and dedication to individualized student care

• Current CNA license
• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred:

• Previous experience working with children, particularly in educational or healthcare settings
