Job summary

The Masonic Home of Virginia is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for full-time evening hours (3:00 PM–11:30 PM) in Richmond, VA 23231. The role provides direct resident care, assists with ADLs, and supports the nursing team to maintain comfort and dignity for residents. Required: Virginia CNA license, CPR certification, and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and assistance to residents.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) under supervision.
• Bathe, dress, and undress residents maintaining dignity and comfort.
• Serve and collect meal trays; assist with feeding as needed.
• Measure and record residents' vital signs: weight, temperature, BP, pulse, respiration.
• Monitor and document food and fluid intake/output as directed.
• Follow nursing instructions and provide safe, compassionate care; collaborate with the care team.

Job Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and assistance to residents.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) under the direction of nursing supervisors.
• Bathe, dress, and undress residents while maintaining dignity, privacy, and comfort.
• Serve and collect meal trays and assist residents with feeding as needed.
• Measure and accurately record residents' weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates.
• Monitor and document food and fluid intake and output as directed.
• Follow nursing instructions and provide safe, compassionate, and respectful resident care.
• Work collaboratively with nurses and other members of the care team.

Schedule Requirement

• 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Every other weekend is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in healthcare with at least 1 year in long-term care experience is preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push, pull, lift, and move about in the work area and throughout the Home to accomplish tasks
• Express and exchange ideas via spoken word conveying information to others in an audible, accurate, and quick manner
• Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers
• Visual acuity to read, prepare, and analyze
• Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force on occasions
• Subject to temperature changes, but is generally not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions as the work is predominantly inside

Licensure

• Licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
• CPR certified
